Second Road: Drinking St to Soi 5 Walking Tour

This walking tour takes in Second Road from the Drinking Street beer bar complex to a little past Soi 5. There are deviations into Soi 2 and Soi 3. The area is in the north of the main entertain area of Pattaya. Any further north and you are into Naklua.

In this area there are many types of businesses. The well known soapy massage parlours are in this area. There are also massage parlours aimed at the higher paying Japanese and Taiwanese market. Alongside these are the beer bars and a gogo bar. Other businesses include normal massage parlours, restaurants, hotels, a coyote bar and a large shopping centre on the other side of Second Road. If you need some medical treatment there is a good quality hospital on Soi 4. There are also a number of currency exchanges in the area. 

Any visit to Pattaya should include a trip to this area. This is because like most areas in Pattaya it has a different feel and character. One thing that you must do while you are in Pattaya is a soapy massage and they are found in this area. Also while you are ha couple of the open-air beer bars and the coyote bar (Honey Pot.) 

Getting to this area is easy. The safest and easiest way is to catch a baht bus on Second Rd. Most will go as far as this area. Look out for the big sign for Big C shopping centre and get off near there. If you catch a baht bus south of Central Road some scoundrel drivers will turn left into Central Road. If this happens you will need to ring the bell, get off, cross the road and get another baht bus. When this has happened to me in the past I have only given the driver 5 Baht instead of the usual 10 Baht. They know they are doing the wrong thing!
